FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAS VEGAS, NV - August 20, 2002 - ACCPAC Releases New Pro Series Version 7.0 Accounting Software
Extends End-to-End Business Management Reach with Integration to ACCPAC’s e-Commerce, CRM, and Internet-EDI Solutions
ACCPAC International, Inc., a subsidiary of Computer Associates (NYSE: CA), announced today at its "Partnership 2002" conference being held here that ACCPAC Pro Series version 7.0 is now shipping worldwide. Designed for small to medium size businesses who demand end-to-end business integration between their back office accounting and vital front end functions, ACCPAC Pro Series 7.0 provides advanced accounting features, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 support, plus the ability to modify the source code to meet specific business needs.
A key enhancement in version 7.0 is an entirely new object-oriented development framework that enables easier integration with new databases and operating systems. In addition, the framework offers enhanced integration with other mission-critical ACCPAC business applications such as ACCPAC eTransact for e-commerce, ACCPAC eCRM and the new ACCPAC Exchange for Internet-based Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
"To aggressively compete in today’s business environment, small and medium size businesses need the same things as the largest corporations - integration of the front and back office, adaptability to existing business processes and emerging technologies, plus affordability relative to their company size," said ACCPAC President and CEO David M. Hood. "ACCPAC Pro Series 7.0 continues to deliver on our commitment to provide end-to-end business management applications with a great value proposition and extremely flexible deployment options."
ACCPAC Pro Series 7.0 has a new object based design that improves user efficiency, supports XML exporting and gives users a choice of databases. Users can now manage multiple tasks at once as well as select a database option. This new design provides for adaptability to support emerging business technologies and is a platform for long-term growth. In addition, version 7.0 includes a range of improvements in customizability, usability, security and data drill-down.
Long-time ACCPAC Pro Series Solution Providers have lauded the advancements in the Pro Series software.
