September 22, 1999 - Navision Software, a leading worldwide provider of enterprise
business solutions to medium-sized businesses, announced today that its flagship product,
Navision Financials, was the only "wide-area accounting package" to be awarded a perfect "5 out of
5 stars" by The CPA Software News in its September issue.
CPA Software News reviewed a number of what it classified as "wide-area accounting" software
packages. According to the publication, "wide area accounting" packages serve companies with a
medium-to-large accounting staff, several divisions and/or subsidiaries, a significant international
presence and multiple lines of business.
Navision Software describes these mid-market companies as those having between $5 million and
$250 million in annual revenues.
The publication based its ratings on several factors, including: design, daily functionality, reporting
capabilities, accounts receivables, data entry and retrieval, and payroll processing.
"We are honored to be awarded a perfect score," said Randy Keith, president of Navision Software
US. "From the initial product design through the implementation, Navision Financials allows
companies to do business their way. We know the flexibility to easily customize our applications is
a vital feature that sets Navision Software apart from other companies in this market space. And,
with more than 32,000 worldwide installations, we understand that customization is critical for
mid-market businesses."
The reviewer of The CPA Software News was impressed by many of Navision Financials’ features,
including its user-friendliness, clean interface, clearly marked pull-down menus, powerful reporting
features, and substantial security structure.
"Most everything in Navision Financials is table-oriented," said the CPA Software News reviewer of
Navision Software. "Data-entry screens, drill-down navigation and processing screens are all
arranged in rows and columns as tables of information. More importantly, everything is an object
that can be acted upon. Between these two characteristics, a design emerges that makes Navision
Software easier for the user to learn and provides a consistent approach to its customization."
