ACCPAC Announces its Development Strategy for Pro Series

The decision by ACCPAC to acquire SBT was based upon several factors, all of which made the transaction a perfect fit. While the reasons are numerous and varied, one of the most significant is the feature rich technology set with open source code that allows ACCPAC resellers to modify and enhance the software as per the requirements of their customers. ACCPAC's overall goal is to be the leading provider of accounting and e-business solutions for the mid market.

The Future of the ACCPAC Pro Series Product

ACCPAC has clear and aggressive development plans for ACCPAC Pro Series. The following is an outline of the estimated timelines and enhancements for each new release through version 7.0. While versions 8.0 and beyond are planned, the specifications/features for those versions are not yet defined.

Pro Series 6.0 build 2102 is targeted for release in December of 2000.

Pro Series 6.5 is targeted for release in July of 2001.

Pro Series 7.0 is targeted for release in the second calendar quarter of 2002.

Favorites menu & toolbar (User productivity tools)
Transaction rollback for MDI screens and AP/PR check printing
Database containers (latest Visual FoxPro functionality)

ACCPAC Pro Series: Additional Solutions & Integration

In addition to the developments planned for the core product, ACCPAC is also focusing great efforts to add several new technologies to enhance and extend the Pro Series product line. Outlined below are a few examples that will be available in the short term:

ACCPAC Query for Pro Series is targeted for release January 2001
ACCPAC Warehouse Management is targeted for release July 2001
eTransact for Pro Series is targeted for release Q1 2001
FAXserve for Pro Series is targeted for December 2000 (beta)

With the acquisition of the former SBT products, ACCPAC now offers its customers a uniquely broad range of choices.
