ACCPAC® Acquires AGS

Melville, NY - December 6, 2002 - A. B. Computer Systems, Inc. announced today that ACCPAC® has acquired the assets of AGS Software, Inc., the developers of the ePOS point-of-sale solution. This acquisition enables the company to now offer ACCPAC ePOS™, further extending the ACCPAC end-to-end business management applications strategy.

ACCPAC ePOS is engineered for use via the Internet and built with the latest Internet technologies. The product is accessed from a Web browser and comes with the complete information security of ACCPAC iConnect™ for integration with ACCPAC Advantage Series™.

ACCPAC iConnect enables developers to write thin-client applications such as ACCPAC ePOS that directly access the Advantage Series business logic and inherit the Advantage Series extensive security and data integrity capabilities. ACCPAC ePOS enables users to access the POS system as they would any Web page via a browser while having real-time access to customer and inventory data.

A company needs just a single installation of ACCPAC ePOS, plus browser access at the POS sites. An Online/Offline Mode ensures uninterrupted use of POS terminals. The overall design provides for rapid implementation, a high degree of security, low training costs and a lower overall cost of ownership.

Complete Point-of-Sale Management – ACCPAC ePOS supports a full range of retail point-of-sale requirements including barcode scanning, price discounts, layaways, customer and inventory lookup, multiple payment methods, receipt printing and extensive reporting.

Multi-site Operations – ACCPAC ePOS provides support for POS terminals either located at a single site or dispersed throughout multiple sites, all accessing a central POS server. POS transactions are continuously updated in real time, with immediate customer and inventory data validation. Unlike other POS systems that reconcile at the end of the day or manually at the end of the week, ACCPAC ePOS enables users to access every store's inventory and purchases online and as they happen -in real time.

Automation – ACCPAC ePOS is designed to integrate and function easily with touch screens, bar code readers, magnetic card readers, cash drawers and other devices, increasing staff efficiency at the checkout line. The product is compatible with ACCPAC Advantage Series Enterprise, Corporate, and Small Business Editions, 4.1 and higher, and supports IBM® DB2®, Pervasive™ P.SQL 2000, Microsoft® SQL Server and Oracle® databases.
